My name is Katrín Erla — mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Around the age of 9, I received the gift of planting a seed in the earth and growing carrots and kale. I thought it was a miracle to watch a tiny seed grow up out of soil and water — and I became captivated by the harvest. Ever since then, I've had a burning interest in growing organic vegetables and in everything that grows and thrives in our good land.
Education and experience
Reflexology and therapeutic massage since 1986. I completed NLP Master coaching/life coaching training in positive psychology in 2002. Decades of experience as a health practitioner with a focus on nutrition as a foundation for physical and mental health led me to this project.
From plants to a herbal apothecary
Books, the internet, and courses in botany and plant blending carried my research forward. Out of that grew my own apothecary rooted in herbal science — built on folk medicine passed down through the centuries, using only Icelandic herbs, even those growing right in the backyard.
That's how I discovered the remarkable Icelandic pine tree, which became this powerful core ingredient. Naturally organic and unpolluted, straight from the plant kingdom — vitamins, minerals, protein, and antioxidants — to help the body maintain energy and health. Mountain pine (Pinus mugo), through what it yields, can be just the help you need to heal or protect your own health.
Onward
Experience, research, and the history of other nations hold a wealth of knowledge. I continue to seek there — while discovering Iceland's own flora ever more deeply, in pursuit of results and sustainability.
With warm regards,
Katrín Erla
